Description
The Bartholdi is inspired by Frédéric-Auguste Bartholdi, the sculptor that created the Statue of Liberty. This original Ivey Abitz design is made just for you in New York.
Get to Know Bartholdi
Bartholdi created the Statue of Liberty to celebrate the United States’ independence. The intricate details of his work of art in copper are translated into a work of art in fabric.
The Bartholdi Frock celebrates the symbolism of the statue and reminds us that we at Ivey Abitz are able to create clothing that celebrates our uniqueness because we live in a country that seeks to honour the ideals of liberty and independence. May we never take this for granted.
We look to the curved repetitive shapes in the torch, which for Bartholdi represented progress and peace. We want you to have a peaceful experience as you wear your Bartholdi Frock from Ivey Abitz. May its comfortable flow and movement always remind you of how important it is to have liberty and independence, which are at the heart of why Ivey Abitz exists in the first place.
Subtle darting at the chest and gentle tailoring in at the waist creates a comfortable silhouette. A slight a-line gives you ease of movement with incredible texture and detail along the bottom hem.
Fabric
Solid hued fabrics best feature the curved and textured detail along the bottom hem of the frock. For a bolder look, choose a striped weave as it will give added contrast with bias cut pockets and bottom hem detail.
