Get to Know Ans

Our new Ans (pronounced Ahnz) and Saint Ans designs are in honour of the souls that come into our lives and give us unexpected joy, just when we need them most.

• The curved neckline on the Ans (pronounced Ahnz) is its shining star, and the sleekness of the frock’s shape creates the base for it. The neck is thoughtful and lyrical with its turns and curves as it makes its way to the shoulder seams.
• Subtle darting at the chest and gentle tailoring in at the waist creates a comfortable silhouette.A slight a-line gives you a base layering frock, sans pleating or detail along the bottom hem. It gives you contrast to designs like our beloved Fairholme Frock and Blanchefleur Frock.
• The drape is relaxed and easy fitting. A slight a-line drape below the waist allows you to move easily and freely. The chest measurement is the most important area in terms of fit for our frocks.
• If you know for certain you’d like the waist cinched in a bit, order with our diminutively narrow side ties. The ties are approximately 40 inches long on a size medium. They are a bit shorter and longer, depending upon the size you choose. They are designed to cinch in at the waist whilst still allowing you to wear the Ans Jacket with its sash (or other shirts and duster coats) over it.
• Side seam pockets are generous in size so you can keep many things at hand: handkerchiefs, keys, phones, sunglasses. Women need pockets for everyday living, and we have them in abundance here at Ivey Abitz.

Fabric

Thicker weaves, bolder patterns, and punchier hues are ideal for the Ans Frock. The design allows fabric with a definite presence to be featured.

Ensemble Suggestions

Due to its wonderful neckline, we suggest wearing this on its own with a cardigan or the Ans Jacket over it. Long Duster Coats will love being paired with the Ans, too! Layering frocks like the River Frock or Wrennie Frock are ideal to wear over the Ans because they have slightly larger necklines. You can still get a peek of the Ans neckline whilst wearing these lovely designs with it.
