Taking made in New York to a whole new level!
We are proud to introduce to you our new jewelry line, created with extraordinary New York Herkimer Diamonds, all mined especially for us in the New York Mohawk Valley Region.
Herkimer Diamonds are about 400-500 million years old. The crystals are marvels of nature with self-made facets. They are found inside pockets of dolomite limestone, just as you see them featured in our jewelry.
We are collaborating with a wonderfully kind and talented jewelry artist named Dori who mines for the Herkimer Diamonds herself with a sledge hammer and chisel. Then, she makes them into necklaces using a rustic copper setting and chain.
Every Nouvelle Necklace is one-of-a-kind–just like Ivey Abitz garments and just like you.
The Nouvelle Necklace features a Herkimer Diamond that is similar in weight and size to the ones shown here in our Look Book. The image of 12 necklaces together show the slight variations in size, shape, and finishing of the necklaces. Some will hang freely in a pendant while others will be wrapped in rustic copper detail. If you have a preference regarding shape and finishing, please email us before you place your order or simply write your request in the comments box when you check out.
Ensemble Suggestions
Wear the Nouvelle with ALL Ivey Abitz ensembles! The length of the chain is adjustable, so it can be worn with any of our necklines. Just take extra care when wearing it with our silk chiffons as some of the facets can catch on the finely spun weaves.
People wear them for the energy they give. Many wear them as healing pieces. Others wear them to keep safe during journeys. Some wear them because they love New York and it’s an amazing piece of history from it.
