Description
We are thrilled to introduce the Camilla Raincoat alongside our new waxed cottons. This is our official raincoat, made with real waxed cotton. Waxed cotton is a rugged weave that has been used for generations, before the days of synthetic, cheaper plastic and nylon fabrics were made for outdoor wear.
Fabric description and care:
Waxed cotton is an extremely durable fabric that requires minimal care. Wax fabrics have been successfully used for many years without washing. Do not dry clean. If spots occur, only spot wash with saddle soap. A periodic cleaning with a hose, damp cloth or soft scrub brush for heavy dirt is all that is needed. You can wash your coat in a washer, but keep in mind that it will wash off all of the waxing that makes it water resistant. After considerable use, and once the wax is worn off from wear, you can use a waxed cotton refinishing ointment to cover it again with wax.
Choose between the hues of Saddle (dark brown), Steamer (deep navy), and Midnight Train (black).
The Camilla is completely lined with our new Horse in the Hamlet cotton weave, celebrating the 2020 theme of travel and modes of transportation.
Design Details
- The Camilla Raincoat comes complete with a separate belt that can be worn tied around the waist. The coat can also be worn with a straight silhouette and without the belt.
- Buttons are molded metal with a rustic appearance, sturdy for hardworking days and long walks outdoors.
- The hood is especially helpful when caught in the rain, and without an umbrella. A useful tab loosely wraps around the neck and buttons on the side of the hood. It helps protect the neck from wind and rain, and it also helps keeps the hood in place.
