Animal Saints Rescue Society Success Story

Featured Animal Saint: Penelope

Meet Penelope, an Animal Saint rescued by Animal Saints Rescue Society. As an extreme case in animal control, we were asked to help get her out as soon as possible. Euthanasia was justifiable due to her condition unless a rescue could help her straight away. She was completely covered in mats, feces, and urine. She could not see because her eyes were covered with mats. She could barely walk initially; she dragged her back feet and tumbled. She needed help before it was too late.

After a monthlong hospital stay, she was well enough to be spayed, receive a dental, and get all of the tests she needed to confirm she could have a wonderful life in this second chance she has been given.

Penelope was transferred to the Animal Saints Sanctuary where she could receive laser therapy and physical therapy in the hopes of improving her movement. Within just a couple of months, Penelope could go for walks with the rest of the pack! With her set of traction boots that keep her feet more stable, she can now run and keep up with everyone. It’s possible she will need a cart for her hind legs as she gets older, but she won’t mind at all. Her gentleness, sweetness, forgiving heart, patience, and fortitude will see her through anything and everything. This is why Penelope is an Animal Saint.
