Description: Our grandmother Celia was a good photographer. Because of her, we have nostalgic black and white photographs of family enjoying time together at their summer cottage in the early 1940’s to 1960’s. There was inevitably some sort of plaid being worn in these meaningful photographs: some shirts, some trousers, some skirts. This weave looks like it came straight from one of these black and white images, and then it was brought to life with muted natural hues.
The mix of dark blues represent the lake. The yellow, rust, and deep reddish pinks represent the sunrises that drew my relatives to the family lake cottage for decades. Thus the name, cottage plaid. It’s our ode to the family cottage that brought us all together, year after year after year.
Opaque but breezy for hot summer days. Soft to the touch. Easy and fluid drape. Best choice for skirts, vests, and playful trousers. Frocks. too.
Content: 100 percent cotton. Four season weave.
Care: Simply hand wash or put through machine delicate cycle in cold water. We suggest using an all natural fabric softener to maintain the softness we have washed into it. Tumble dry on extra-low heat with our artisan wool dryer balls to keep the relaxed effect that is featured in the Look Book.
