About More

There’s a lot of history behind the Riz Ortolani song that inspired the 2026 More Collection. More had a long journey from winning a 1964 Grammy to being recorded by dozens of popular singers and orchestras.

The Ivey Abitz part of the story begins one magical night in 1990, when designer Cynthia Ivey Abitz heard her future beloved, Joshua, perform More with his bandmate. They fell in love soon after. In all the years since, Cynthia and Joshua have worked together making art in various forms: photography, painting, clothing…and always music.

More is one of our favorite songs. Here we have recorded it as a nod to our 30th year as Ivey Abitz Artists.

More is one of those songs we could listen to on a loop forever, no matter the arrangement. Whether it’s Frank Sinatra swinging with Count Basie, or the 12-string virtuosity of Joe Pass. Its melody is simple while its dissonant harmonies conjure images of love’s complexities. It always leaves us with a yearning for…more.

More is gentle and celebratory. Its message is of love and commitment, about sharing everyday moments with your beloved, embracing the ebb and flow of daily existence. This quiet, steady commitment keeps the world a stable and loving place, something that is all too often overshadowed by humanity’s fascination with cruelty and chaos.

The invisible energy that is music, mathematically attuned to the universe, gives order to a chaotic world. Just as music is an expression of hope and truth, More is our expression of love.
