Our 76th collection of limited edition bespoke garments is a nod to designers Mary and Russel Wright. Together as husband and wife, they designed pottery and casual everyday china in the 1940’s. It was meant to give people an individual look by mixing and matching different hues within a collection of tableware. Every meal could look different, just by combining the various palettes.

The following look book is a celebration of bold hues and infinite ensemble possibilities. We feature 76 ensembles to represent this, our 76th collection. You can mix and match for years to come with this visually striking and pleasantly casual new collection. May you always celebrate everyday life through meaningful design. I first discovered the Wrights’ pottery and china thirty years ago when I was drawn to some dishes in an antique shop. The palette was muted yet striking. Parsley. Sherbet. Avocado. Raindrop. All different hues that mixed and matched together.

This everyday pottery was my introduction to the “American Modern” design. The Wrights have been credited with melding the mid-century modern aesthetic into everyday life. But I read their work as transcending time. I just see good design and a playful, harmonious palette.

The horizontal lines created by the stone steps at Manitoga inspired the Ottway Frock.
Ice Blue mixed in with warmer hues like Avocado and Cantaloupe create a chord in a visual song. Find a place for such things within your everyday garment repertoire, even if the so-called season colour charts tell you not to wear something based on skin tone. Wear what makes your heart sing!

Designs in our Pressed Flower Weave were inspired by pressed flower windows in Wrights’ home.
The texture in the square tiered steps at Manitoga inspired our designs in the Plaid Woven Weave.
The palette draws from bold hues found in nature, especially the food that gives us sustenance and energy to accomplish a life well lived. Even our buttons encapsulate the natural world by pressing grass and natural twine within them.
The Wright Culottes were inspired by the pergola leading to the Wright design studio.
At the heart of nature’s palette is a deep, sonorous green. As the stalk and stem of every plant, it is the hue through which all other colourful blossom, fruit, and vegetable hues are connected. Find a place for a hue like Parsley in every collection. It is a symbol of hope and life itself.
