Description
Get to Know the Cape
Make yourself feel right at home with a nod to the textured delight of a Cape Cod shingled cottage.
The repetition of the bottom hem pleating echoes the cedar shingles that are ubiquitous on Cape Cod. The texture and overlapping pleats create a definite weighty drape and swing along the bottom hem. It is so much fun to wear. It anchors you in simple and pure texture.
Fabric
In order to truly appreciate the texture and repetition of all ten glorious rows of pleating, we recommend enjoying this frock in our yarn dyed linens and washed linens. It will allow the bottom hem to really be featured and appreciated.
Ensemble Suggestions
The Cape Frock can be worn on its own as a sleeveless frock, but it is meant to be the base layer in our ensembles. It has lines in the pleating that are parallel to the floor, and our designs with similar bottom hems pair nicely with it. Such designs are the River Frock, Pierrepont Shirt, Viv Coat Dress, and Baedeker Shirt.
Other dusters and shirts that work well with it are the Elsie Duster Coat, Henrietta Duster Coat, and the Thatched Duster Coat. Their bottom hems have more curves than the other designs listed above, but they still pair very well with the Cape.
Available in XS, S, M, L, and XL.
